God has called each one of us to walk in obedience. But yet, He gave us a thing called 'freewill'. So now obedience becomes our choice. Do we choose to do what is right in God's eyes or do we choose to do what the world has been doing?
I myself have been struggling with obedience. Sometimes things around me are just too tempting. So do I circum to the world around me or do I do what is right in God's eyes? Of course the model answer would be... Do what is right in God's eyes lor. Easier said than done. Hahaha... :) Seriously, it's super hard.
But as I was reading and reflecting on God's words, He reminded me again and again how important it is to walk in obedience. His rules are given to us for our own good. For example, the Isrealites had no refrigeration during those days in the bible. Well, God gave them strict rules of what they can eat and what they cannot. For what? It was to give them a healthy life.
Walking in obedience is walking in our destiny that God has for us. When we walk in obedience, we are getting nearer to the destiny which God has for us. God will never have rules to harm us but it is because He loves us so much that He wants to keep us safe.
Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me."
That is the verse which served as my reminder to obey God at all times. I am now living by faith in the Son of God who loved me and died for my sins. We are no different from those who do not know Christ if we choose to do the things of the world. The steps that we take are being watched not only be our Heavenly Father but also by those around you. Let's choose to obey God and be a light to those around us.
