It's 2013!

Time passed really fast this December and it's already 2013! I missed blogging! :) I wanted to blog about so many things but I didn't have the time due to work commitments. So here are some happenings...

Virgin Trip to USS

Thanks to Pea, this was my virgin trip to Universal Studios at half price too! :D I actually expected the place to be bigger but to my surprise it was actually quite small. My poor bf was the only guy there as she had 4 tickets and Claire wasn't around to join us :( The camera in my bag was too heavy anyway.

Please don't go there on a weekend. It's super duper crowded and everyone should buy the express pass especially for those who hate queuing like me. Warning: picture spam ahead.

The ever famous universal studio globe - must take picture with it or that's what everyone does.

We queued for 11/2 hours for the ride below. It was so booooorrrrinnnggg. It's definitely meant for kids.

Check out the queue behind and in front of them.

Just to say, the Transformers ride was really cool. We were so blessed by a family who gave us express passes the second round. Hence, no queue! It was pouring and everyone wanted to go home or sit on the sheltered rides.

Roller Coaster was fun but when I finally had the courage to sit on the one with the legs dangling in the air, it started to rain. I can still hear Michelle screaming in my ears, "Open your eyes, open your eyes!" Adrenaline rush -.-"

I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the Mummy ride but I still remember ever so clearly Pea screaming, "I hate you" and holding on to Michelle. It started to rain around 2pm and it didn't stop. It wasn't very fun after that.

Oh well, I'm glad to have enjoyed myself with these babes and my darling bf :) Too bad I couldn't find anything worth buying for my nephews. And lunch at Chili's was good too. No pics because my computer crashed :(

BondFest 2012

If it wasn't for my wonderful committee, BondFest would not have been a success. BondFest was a carnival by my company to bring the Christmas joy and love to the community. It was also to encourage family bonding among parents and children. All photo credits goes to my sister, Edward and Yan Wei.

My "nai ma"  was the emcee for the day.

Ah gong playing Dance Central. How cool is that?

Thanks to all who helped and made this event a successful one :)

Here's wishing everyone a blessed 2013!

xoxo,
Becky

Shermaine's Wedding + TVD Cottage Embroidery Dress

I've not seen Shermaine for 5 years and we still keep in touch. I love this girl so much! :) So blessed to have her as a friend and I'm happy she's found her true love.

Her wedding was held at Mt Faber, Jewel Box. My first time in Jewel Box. A little cozy place with good ambience. It was a small ROM with about 50 people. But... it was raining. It's not very good to get married in December isn't it? Heh...

TVD Cottage Embroidery Dress in Pink

This dress took really, really long to arrive. I was so glad that it arrived to me safe and sound. :) I had already planned in advance what I wanted to wear to Sherm's wedding so can you imagine the frenzy I was in? Hahaha... #shopaholicplansfailed

Anyway, the dress is really lovely. I totally heart the embroidery details and I love the cooling chiffon material. The details are exquisite and very nicely sewn. This dress sort of reminds me of the previous MGG embroidery dress. The pink is really sweet too. It's non sheer and it's perfect for casual dates.

Fit wise - It's loose for me at the ptp and waist but I don't mind that. I don't really like too fitting dresses. It's a great dress to have :)

Please do pardon the messy hair. I only took this photo after I came home. Haha :D

Sorry, this is the only photo I have of the close up.

Have a blessed week! :)

Egg Tarts

My committee members and I had a fund raising project for our year end carnival, "Bond Fest". "Bond Fest" is a project by my company where we bring the community together to have a time of fun, games, laughter and also to bring the Christmas cheer! :)

It's going to be a much bigger project than we expected. We've run carnivals before but this year, the scale is much bigger and we are super excited. The only sad thing is that there won't be any holidays for me till this is over.

Anyway, so we had a "Lunch Buffet" fund raiser in our church. I wasn't there to enjoy the food because I had to work and I'm so thankful that we managed to raise a good amount of money. Well, that being said, if you are following me on Instagram, you would have seen these yummy egg tarts.

eggtarts

My sister has a real flare for baking. She should take over my mother's business one day. I have to say that the crust was super hard to fit into the mould. It must be of the correct thickness. That's why I don't really like baking. Everything must be accurate. #lazyme

Pictures below for proof of accuracy. The round balls must weigh 0.15kg.

Anyway, to cut everything short, for those who are interested you can get the egg tart recipe here:

It's advisable to put your egg tarts in the fridge once it has cooled down as the crust will soften the next day. And also, please do put lesser sugar as it is quite sweet. Have fun baking! :)

Reviews + Friends + My Dream

Review time...

HVV Malibu Ruched Toga in Ruby, Size M

I was a little worried when I saw it because it looked so small. Anyway, glad I was able to wear it :) The material is stretchy and the prints are lovely. However, it's really not my style. I think I'm too busty and too meaty to wear such tight clothes. I still prefer slightly loose fitting stuff.  It comes with this purple lining which I think is so weird. Wonder why they didn't just use white lining.

IMAG0721
Verdict: It's only meant for people who are smaller size than me. And if you are a floral and toga lover, it's so pretty. Oh, one more thing, it will ride up when you walk. Hahaha... The model looks darn good in it. Dang :(

LB Tarrell Top and Oasis Pleated Skirt

I really love the Oasis Pleated skirt. So glad I managed to get it in blue too. The Tarrell top is casual and quite versatile. I love polka dots!!!

Yesterday, I had a dream. It felt so real. I was standing in a building and while looking out, I could see a whirlpool forming in the water just at a sea nearby. I told my bf, 'Quick, let's go to the tallest building.' I could see the waves going to crash in on us. Yes, it was tsunami. I don't think it was weird but perhaps, it could happen to us one day. We are afterall surrounded by water, although I have read the news that it could never happen to Singapore but sometimes, the unexpected happens.

I wasn't frightened when I woke up but questions started to form in my head. I didn't have a good sleep at all.

To end of this post. Here are my dearest girlfriends. Lub them very, very much.

Claire was just talking about her dad yesterday and reminded us of his accident. Although it seems very recent, but it has been 3 years. I'm like,'We've been friends for that long?' Time passes really fast.

I feel like a so short and fat beside them. -.-lll

Cheers to Pea, Claire and Michelle + Review of TCL Floral Bouquet Top in White

Ok, and so my blog is dead because it's been a really, really busy month for me... boohoo... And yeah, been working on some things and trying to fulfil deadlines. For your info, I'm a procrastinator. And the amount of stuff to do is endless.
_____

It's amazing how online shopping brought us together. We initially had a bigger group but due to work commitments and so forth, it just dwindled to 4 of us who meet up regularly and whatsapp regularly too. Even our boyfriends ask, why we keep on whatsapping each other. I guess there are many things to say.

We have become so close that we are even talking and ranting about our personal lives and our goals for the future. We encourage and trust each other for advice. It's amazing how close we have become. We meet even more regularly than our other friends. Hahaha... :D We even spent Valentine's Day together too!

Friends

I love these girls for who they are, the wisdom they have and the amount of things we have to share. I'm really blessed to have them as friends.

_____

On another note, online shopping has brought me to meet other girls too. We all share a common interest of shopping. Perhaps, one day, we just might have a super huge gathering.

Review of TCL Floral Bouquet Top in White

As said previously on Best of Shopping LJ, I honestly don't think the top is worth the price but since I wanted a top like this, I'll just keep it. And it's not really white, it's more towards cream. I have it in black too. Shall review that another day.

Random thought - I need to lose weight but I'm too lazy to get out of my chair to run or go to the gym :( My mum says I should stop swimming as it's been causing my face to come out lots and lots of pimples. I hate sweating.

Kirby and Corinne's Wedding + OTD's

Yesterday was filled with happiness as my two friends finally got married after about 14 years of dating. Both looked wonderful and filled with marital bliss. May God continually bless them as they go on to their next phase in life :)

LB Feather Toga Dress and Swallow necklace from X by X Femme for my friend's wedding dinner :)
I totally forgot this dress existed until I saw someone selling it on tempomart. <3 So glad I found a necklace to match with it :D I had my hair curled specially for the dinner but it didn't last till today. Maybe I should curl it permanently, I kind of like it :)

Canton Paradise

Heh, this post is way overdue. To be exact by one month. LOL :) It's been a long time since I've met up with them and it's good to know that 2 of them will be getting married this year :D So happy for them. And there were many other things that happened in between but I'm so glad we are still meeting up.

Canton Paradise is a good place to eat if you love dim sum. I'm especially love, love, love custard baos after trying the "oozing" out type of custard baos from Hong Kong. I miss the dim sum from Hong Kong! I'm not too sure if there are other Canton Paradise restaurants in Singapore but I tried the newly opened one at I12 Katong.

/edit
I just researched- Canton Paradise is from the Paradise group that has restaurants like Taste Paradise, Paradise Dynasty etc.

So, I was late which made my bf late but we weren't the latest. Hahaha... And we ordered ssssssooooo much food that we couldn't see each other across the table. The best part was, instead of serving the food slowly, it kept on coming and we had to use the other tables which was empty to put our food. Never ate so much dim sum in my life.

Here is a collage put together by Mr. Chiam  of the food we ate...

Kirby and Benjamin scooping the porridge. Quite tasty I must say!
Food at the start. The egg tarts are good too! :)
Kenneth says it's an unglam photo of him. LOL :)
Here comes more food... -.-
My very favorite, Custard Bao :)
It was quite amazing we actually ended up with ...

There was more actually... Hahaha... we were too busy trying to finish up the food so didn't take more pictures. I was so full by the end of the lunch.

Friends :)
Hope you all had a blessed new year! :) I have some decisions to make this year. I shall blog about it soon! :)
