Choices

Life is about choices isn't it? The choices that we make each day affect our lives in every way. Today as I was reading Nehemiah 5, this sentence stood out to me.

Nehemiah 5:15"............ But out of reverence of God, I did not act like that."

But out of reverence of God... Hmmmm... How many times a day do we act out of reverence of God? How many times a day do we act the way God wants us to? The freewill that God has given to us somehow sometimes doesn't feel very good to me. Sometimes, I wish He didn't give me a freewill.

As I begin to reflect and listen to the song "Show Me Your Face", my prayer is God, show me Your face. However, as the song goes on, "make my heart pure as gold." Our hearts must be pure. God is a holy God. If we want more of God, there has to be a sacrifice of our worldly lives.

How many of us can say, "God. out of reverence, I will choose to set aside all I feel and just come before you?" And there comes the temptation of the flesh, the temptation of the world. It is truly a choice that is hard to make.

Can you make that choice? Can I make that choice? Which want would we want? It's all between God and us.
