I was juz sitting on my bed reflecting on certain families... and i began to ask myself,"What would I want my family to be like? How much will I push my chdn to excel?"
I remembered what my family was like or at least how my parents expected me to do well but eventually they accepted that i'm not the study type...
Then I recalled what someone said to me... support from parents... whether they do well or not, as parents, we juz haf to give them support... true, i agree...
Sadly, however, we r living in a society in which if we don't excel we'll die. Another option, migrate... if u haf the money to do so...
oh well, my conclusion is tat yes, we haf to support our kids in what they do but, we also haf to teach them to excel in what they do... they don't haf to be the best at what they do... but they haf to do their best for God.
of course, we haf to choose what's best for them too. Pray and ask God for wisdom. I haf a friend whose mum chose a better route for him and his now doing pretty well. As much as I would like to say, these things do not haf eternal value so don't take it seriously. The bible does say though, do things with diligence. So let's spend our time on earth, doing our best for God because by Him saying tat, He knows what's best for us at this point of time...
