My dear cousin has decided to get married. His about two years older than me I think. Should be... Anyway, it made me realize something or so I realized a long time ago.
In Singapore, it's no money, no talk. I was calculating the expenses of how much it actually cost for a person to get married and to own a house. This includes the wedding photographs and the dinner. It should total about 30K.
Haha... Even during these times of recession, I don't think the prices will really go down too much. Sigh, makes me wonder if I ever even want to get married. My mum was saying in the car this afternoon, "The most just hold a church wedding with a big buffet reception."
My exact thoughts because the dinner itself will cost you a bomb. Just imagine... One person cost about $60. 10 people a table which would amount you to $600 per table. Then if you have a lot of relatives and friends, there should be a total of 25 tables. After calculating, the total is about 15K, just for a dinner alone.
Xianz... no wonder my auntie wanted to stay single for such a long time. Of course, there must be a saving up for kids and furniture and blah blah... My dream about being a tai-tai is gone... flown away... Haha... :) I feel blessed enough already. :D
