I came back to work yesterday.. finally... hahaha.. :) I had a talk with someone... and so she said that we should try to involve everybody like those who can play keyboard and stuff like that.
You see, I don't deny that she is wrong. I just think that being on the worship team is not only about skills but also about the heart. Just because they can play, does not mean that they should be on stage.
To me, there's nothing wrong with wanting to serve with the talent that you have. Even having the eagerness to serve is good. It's fantastic. However, I think the motive must always be correct and of course the heart.
Why bother forcing someone to serve when he/she has the face of 'I totally dislike it' or the 'must I?' look. Anyway, back to the worship team part. I think that being on the worship team is not only about skills. The person's walk with God must be constant.
I don't want to just put someone on stage just because that someone can play. Why can't people see that it's not about the skills and how long you have been a Christian? But it's about their relationship with God!
Sorry, not putting people down. I'm not perfect either. I don't do quiet time daily. I try... but I also know where my heart lies. Well, I don't know. I just have to pray about it. It is not my will but God's will to be done. If it is His will to put them on stage then, I will so gladly do it.
Proverbs 19:21 "Many are the plans in a human heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
Yes! Not my will but HIS be done! Lord, to you I commit everything... the musicians, the youths, the children... May YOUR will be done on earth as it is in Heaven!
